justify;\">For a normal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.saera.eu\/en\/audiology-programmes\/\">auditory system<\/a>, understanding speech in background noise is an extremely difficult task. In a quite situation, an individual may not display any difficulty in perceiving the words due to the presence of redundant cues. The scenario changes in day to day situation where there is an exposure to various composite noises. To assess this need, High frequency bengali speech identification test [HF-BSIT] was developed in bangla to meet the colloquial need of the population. This test will also be useful in selecting amplification devices for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.saera.eu\/en\/audiology-programmes\/\">hearing impaired<\/a> individuals with gradual sloping loss. The test material was standardized in 40 native bengali speaking adults (twenty males and twenty females) aged between 18-30 years.
